Community service was the focus of this fun run that collected new or lightly-worn clothes for local homeless shelters on October 18.
Participants donated articles of clothing and then ran a mile NEARLY naked in appropriate attire for this fun run (undergarments, bathing suits, boxer shorts, t-shirts, shorts, tank tops and camisoles).
The run demonstrates the challenges faced by over 16,000 homeless people across Massachusetts without appropriate clothing as cooler temperatures approach. All donations went to support the Amherst Survival Center.
Participating in the run is also a great way to give back to your university since $10 from each registration will be a charitable contribution to UMass Amherst student scholarships.
This student-run event is coordinated by the Student Alumni Association.
